Jade uses Nue Conceal technology, including a skin tone reader, to match pigment to your natural skin tone so the treated area blends with the surrounding skin. It is not a cover-up, it is a restoration.

What is the difference between pigment and inkless camouflage?

Pigment camouflage colour-matches the area and works beautifully on flat, healed scars. Inkless camouflage deposits a medical-grade serum instead of ink, improving texture and complexion. Most of Jade's clients begin with inkless work to smooth and prepare the skin, in the same way you would prepare a cracked wall before painting it.

Does it hurt?

Most clients describe mild to moderate discomfort, similar to other forms of cosmetic tattooing. We do not recommend using numbing cream before treatment, as it may interfere with pigment insertion and increase pain sensitivity. Female clients may also wish to schedule sessions around their monthly cycle to avoid heightened sensitivity.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the type of scarring, but typically 2 to 5 sessions are advised for the best results. Time is allowed between appointments for the skin to heal and the pigment to settle. You will receive a clear plan at your consultation.

While any procedure that opens the skin carries some infection risk, we take extensive precautions to minimise it. We use pre-sterilised disposable equipment for every client and procedure, along with strict hygiene practices including new needles, gloves and cleaning wipes. The treated area is cleansed with Viraclean before and after every client.

Are the products used vegan-friendly?

Yes. All products used are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

Can I tan or use fake tan before or after treatment?

Accepted Answer

Tanning and fake tanning are strictly prohibited for 20 to 30 days post-treatment to prevent hyperpigmentation. Direct sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided for 6 weeks after treatment. If the area is still not fully healed after 20 to 30 days, continued sun avoidance is necessary. Please consult Jade before tanning to ensure the area has healed.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Pregnant and nursing women, individuals prone to keloids, those with cardiac disease, and individuals with active skin cancer or undergoing chemotherapy are not suitable. If you have any medical conditions, please consult your doctor before booking.

Is it permanent?

Yes. Pigment is implanted into the dermis and is designed to last. Some natural fading can occur over time depending on skin type, sun exposure and aftercare, which is why occasional maintenance sessions may be recommended.

Do my scars need to be fully healed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Camouflage work requires fully healed scars to avoid damaging the skin. Where a scar sits darker than the surrounding skin, LED light therapy sessions are used beforehand to gradually lighten the area first.

Can stretch marks be treated?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both old and some newer stretch marks respond well. Inkless treatment addresses texture, and skin colour pigment addresses contrasting colour, including red and purple marks once fully healed. Book after your tan has faded so colour can be matched accurately.

• Wash the area with antiseptic soap if possible. • Pat the area dry. • Apply the aftercare balm morning and night, and as needed. • Wear clean, loose clothing to protect the treated area. • Ensure bed sheets are clean.

What is the daily routine for the first week?

• Apply the aftercare balm every 4 to 6 hours to stimulate healing. • Avoid scratching; apply more aftercare balm if the area becomes itchy. • Do not remove scabs; allow them to fall off naturally.

What should I avoid during the first 10 days?

• Baths, swimming pools, beaches, bathtubs and spas. • Saunas. • Excessive sweating. • Excessive heat, suffocation or friction/rubbing on the treated skin. • Tight clothing such as jeggings or tight jeans.

What should I expect while healing?

Expect redness and slight itching during the healing process, followed by darkening of the area, which is normal. The final result will be visible after 4 to 8 weeks, depending on individual healing speed. If you experience nausea, you may take paracetamol, but avoid ibuprofen to prevent complications.

Yes. Laser tattoo removal can fully remove a tattoo, but results vary depending on the individual and the tattoo. Patience is key, as multiple sessions are usually required.
